Why we Love Barn Weddings at Foil

Filled with traditional English country charm, we love seeing how our couples choose to bring their own personalities to their barn weddings. From neon sign and velvet furniture to billowing fabrics and romantic flowers, barn wedding venues give us plenty to play with. Often in remote locations, our experience working in barn wedding venues means we know the important questions to ask and logistics to plan for to make sure there are no last-minute issues. Instead, our couples can focus on relaxing, celebrating and enjoying their rural retreat.

Do you have your own barn wedding in the works?

Cassandra + Phil's Barn Wedding style:
Elegant + Luxe

C+P worked with Foil for the 12 months before their wedding as part of our Partial Planning service. Together we created a luxurious countryside style that reflected the couple's discerning tastes, along with nods to the bride's Canadian roots such as maple syrup favours and late night Poutine for their guests! We played with fabric and texture to bring their classical colour palette to life and elevated the design with cut glass and gold accents. The couple wed under a beautiful draped fabric installation before heading to the main house for drinks whilst we transformed the barn into the dining room and later on, the dance floor.

West Horsley Place Wedding

Our favourite Barn Wedding Locations

Foil has delivered events at some truly beautiful barn wedding venues across the UK and we've also learnt that each barn wedding comes with it's own unique style and potential obstacles to overcome! Getting married in the countryside always lends itself to a laid back, longer party; however it also means that every eventuality needs to be thought of in good time so there are no surprises at the last minute. Whether it's adapting to catering facilities or styling a listed building, we love the challenge of working in these big, beautiful wedding venues.

Whether you're opting for a more modern barn wedding venue such as the renovated space at West Horsley Place in Surrey, or would prefer something packed with old-barn charm like Bridal Barn in the midlands, Foil has you covered when it comes to both putting your personal stamp on the space as well as figuring out the logistics for a seamless barn wedding to remember.

Jo + George's Barn Wedding style:
Rustic + Romantic (With a twist!)

J+G approached Foil for help delivering their DIY woodland wedding at Happy Valley in Norfolk. They wed amongst the trees in an intimate ceremony, before holding a relaxed reception complete with a whole host of outdoor entertainment. As they opted to hold their wedding on October 31st, after their meal we transformed the space from wedding wonderland to halloween extravaganza, which their guests embraced with their own selection of homemade costumes!

Laid-Back + Natural

S+M held their wedding ceremony under an enormous oak tree for their village green barn wedding; they continued the summery alfresco celebration with a horsebox bar, BBQ style sharing platters and an impromptu football match.
